I was asked by a friend to re-develop a logo for his tiling business. We decided a much stronger brand and logo were required if he was to expand his business. The logo was also to be used on a business card, vehicle signage and in newspaper/phone book advertising. The client opted for the steel grey and orange colours, as the two provided a nice contrast and were quite a unique combination in comparison to other businesses in the industry. What follows is the final result of 2-3 months of work between myself and my friend to come up with a logo that fit his requirements: A. it wasn't too complicated and it was easy to read, B. it was easily recognisable and tiles were incorporated into the logo and C. would work across several mediums for basic advertising.
