Still Life Project

This assignment required us to draw an object from your perspective of the room as realistic as possible. You had to draw the image using every shade, shadow, depth and shape to exactly the way you saw it. The great thing about this assignment was that fact that everyone had assigned seats and they had to stay in that seat the whole time they drew there assignment. Once everyone was finished you could see the image from different perspectives. The medium used for this project was pencils. The main element of art I concentrated on was the shading, and the way that the light hit the objects and interpreting that on paper. The main aspect of the piece that I focused on in this pieces was shading and contrast and the way the shadow hit certain objects more then others, just trying to get every bit of detail on paper. The most challenging part of this assignment was interpreting the shape. It was hard trying to get the shape of what you exactly on the page, this was unexpected because drawing an oval shape for a bowl was harder then it looked. This is definitely once again one of my favorite pieces. It was the first time that I realized I actually could draw, even though now that I think about it, it could have just been luck with the way that it turned out. I would have definitely done it the same way and would have not chosen to do the assignment differently.
