Models help in the understanding of processes and spatial characteristics while materials talk about colours, textures, warmth, strength...together models and materials help explore ideas and visualize the experiential qualities of what is being designed.

drawing from earth tones and the materiality of public facades

Exploring the creation of spaces where the walls can expand invading and impacting neighbouring spaces

The nature of latex allows for a composition that works both with the dynamic nature of the structure of the material and its relationship to light as the material stretches and becomes more transluscent

This model explores how a simple space can be activated by strategic openings that allow difference light exposure, transforming the interior environment

Once the clay dries after being applied to a metal mesh, the material begins to crack and fall allowing the tiny perforations of the mesh to rise to the surface while the rest remains covered.

This model brings together different scrap pieces to form a dynamic composition that plays with light and shadows as pieces overlap and influence each other

Again the clay and metal mesh construct allow for a relationship between the solid expression of the ground breaking away, shadows being cast in the cracks, allowing light to penetrate through the openings of the structural mesh

This model is about penetration and extension, it explores the potential of viewports and the elongation of a form

A field of rusted iron rods extend form the ground, light filtering through them. Their colour and form seem to represent an explosion, each rod delineating the trajectory and extension of a components being expelled from the ground.

Metal wires come together to form a central sphere. Each wire brings its structural energy and presence. This model explores the creation of form through the use of individual components of similar nature, expressing each component's individuality.

Although the mesh is to a certain extent a one dimension material when folded and overlapped it does not only gain structural strength but it also helps create dynamic environments of different densities and permeability

When metal mesh is combined with plaster bandages a material construct is formed where each material is expressed and given a purpose, one has to do with structure and the other with exposure and filtration
